Creating Toolbar Shortcuts to Macros

Microsoft Visual Studio .NET® is a great tool, and macros are certainly a powerful addition in its arsenal. Follow this link to view more information about macros. The nicest thing about macros is that they're all code, and can be changed as per different clients or requirements.

While working with macros I found that if all macros were in easy reach of a click I would be encouraged to use them more often.

Here is how to create a shortcut to a macro:

1. Menu choice Tools -> Customize
2. Toolbars tab, click new button, Name: ‘myMacros’
3. Commands tab, choose ‘Macros’ in the Categories list box.
4. Find your macro name in the Commands list box.
5. Drag and drop to the ‘myMacros’ toolbar.
6. Change its properties by right clicking on the button.

Now every time you start Visual Studio, the toolbar is ready for use.
